Treatment Modalities Offered by Jordan Chiropractic
In addition to traditional chiropractic care, we offer several other modalities to restore function through hands-on care.
Interferential Electro-Therapy aka Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS)
Tiny amounts of electrical impulses are induced into the injured/recovering tissue to help tissue heal, decrease pain, and decrease inflammation/edema.
A form of therapy that utilizes sound waves that are undetectable to human ears but deliver deep heating effects to tissues and joints. Deep heating increases circulation. This helps promote tissue healing and reduce swelling.
Mechanical Traction (Cervical or Lumbar)
Similar to spinal decompression therapy, spinal traction therapy also stretches the spine to take the pressure off compressed disc or nerve allowing it to heal properly.
Nonsurgical Decompression Therapy
A form of decompression therapy that relieves pressure on the spine, creating a negative intra-discal pressure to promote retraction of bulging disc material while allowing the disc to heal.
Cold Laser Therapy
Enhances the healing process at the cellular level by delivering non-thermal photons of light through the skin layers to increase blood flow, reduce swelling, and stimulate nerve regeneration.
Intersegmental traction helps mobilize the spinal column while stretching ligaments and muscles and also helps relax and reduce muscle spasms. In addition, it increases blood flow and oxygen to discs, ligaments, and muscles. It also improves balance, strength, and mobility.
People use massage therapy for a variety of health-related purposes: pain relief, sports injury rehabilitation, stress reduction, anxiety and/or depression reduction, relaxation, and general wellness.
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Massage (IASTM)
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Massage (IASTM) is a soft tissue technique that allows clinicians to effectively locate and treat areas of soft tissue dysfunction. The instruments used in IASTM help break down fascial restrictions and scar tissue. The micro trauma caused by the instrument allows for a localized inflammatory response which helps remove damaged cells and promote proper healing of the tissues.
Some Conditions that may improve with IASTM
- - Plantar Fasciitis
- - Tendinopathies/ Tendinitis
- - Myofascial Pain Syndromes
- - Pain related to scar tissue formation
- - IT Band Syndrome
