Chiropractic Techniques at Jordan Chiropractic Clinic
At Jordan Chiropractic Clinic, we offer a variety of chiropractic methods. We strive to provide our patients with the best techniques and treatment modalities needed to resolve problems and achieve optimal health. Some of the techniques we use include S.O.T. (Saco-Occipital Technique), Thompson, Activator, and Diversified.
Diversified (Classic) Chiropractic Technique
Diversified is the most commonly used adjustment technique. For this method, chiropractors apply a short, quick thrust over the restricted joint, with the goal of restoring normal range of motion.
Thompson Chiropractic Technique
Thompson Technique is just one of the many different chiropractic techniques used. It is a high-speed low force manipulation that uses the drop piece system on an adjusting table. The patient is lying face down during the treatment. Thompson technique helps balance the mid back, low back, and pelvic area.
Another important aspect is determining an imbalance in the leg length by balancing the spine and pelvis making everything in the spine and body work well.
Activator Method Chiropractic Technique
An activator is a special tool that is used for giving an extremely gentle adjustment. It uses very low force at a high velocity to help the vertebrae move. This technique is done mostly for geriatric patients, pediatric patients, and on extremities such as elbow, knee, wrist, and jaw (TMJ), but it is also used for patients who cannot tolerate a regular hands-on adjustment.
S.O.T. (Sacro-Occipital Technique)
Sacro-Occipital Technique is an extremely gentle technique that uses gravity along with your breathing to help realign and balance the pelvis. It helps with conditions such as:
- Chronic / acute low back pain
- Bulging & degenerative discs
- Back spasms
- Pinched nerves
